A meditative bitter, with an amber brown color and an inimitable flavor, obtained by infusing a hydroalcoholic solution in large steel vats with high-quality medicinal herbs, including bay leaves, fennel, and licorice. A quintessentially Calabrian excellence, it was also recognized with flying colors by the jury of the World Liqueur Awards, the prestigious international contest celebrating the best of global beverages. In August, for the 2020 edition, the jury recognized Rupes' uniqueness by awarding it a gold medal, citing: "Classic on the nose and palate, with herbal nuances, it leaves a complex smoothness on the palate. Hints of ginger chocolate and a restrained bitterness make it rich and enticing."

Produced in Roccella Jonica, thanks to the dedication and intuition of the Errigo family, Rupes revisits a story that recounts a region and its excellence, starting with the products of nature that grow and thrive naturally, offering a delightful alchemy of spicy, herbaceous notes, sweet and steeped in legend. It is said, in fact, that the name was coined by patriotic intellectuals in the first half of the 19th century, precursors of the Carbonari uprisings that led to Italian Unification, deriving it from the place where it was distilled: at the foot of the famous Roccella Rock, once known as Anphisia. The recipe has been passed down in secret from father to son for four generations.
