Who we are

For generations a point of reference

Latteria del Sole's current identity is the result of many intertwining forces: Calabrian traditions and openness to modernity, individual tenacity and teamwork, an ancient sense of work and entrepreneurial intuition.

Our history

The story of Latteria del Sole is one of small steps and big flavors. It began in 1948 in a shop in Spilinga (a small town in the province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria), amid the distinctive, flavorful aroma of dairy products. Behind it all was the determination and dedication of Michele Pugliese, founder and livestock breeder, who, as early as the first two decades of the 20th century, sought innovation to blend with tradition. The fascinating, and at the time little-known, figure of the cheesemaker, discovered at a fair in Campania, represents the first piece of the colorful, at times complex, puzzle that would gradually come together over the years with the birth of Tommaso in 1930 and his first experiences in the world of work, always supported by his father Michele.

  • Innovation

To seize the opportunities offered by the future and accept the entrepreneurial challenge, some important decisions have been made.

  • Sun cured meats

The creation of Salumi del Sole, a brand specialized in the production and sale of cured meats

  • Online shop

The creation of the online store, which brings the authentic goodness of Calabrian products to the tables of gourmets living outside Calabria and tourists who have visited the store.

And the future ?

The essence of the company's entire philosophy—the desire to promote the traditions of Vibo Valentia and Calabria throughout Italy and Europe—hasn't changed. Because, whether it's organic olive oil, crushed olives, authentic Spilinga 'nduja, Poro pecorino cheese, fileja pasta, or Tropea red onions, there's still a need for that extra something that evokes the taste and simplicity of homemade.
